    The donut Game
    You will need:

Ring donuts – one for each child
    String
Somewhere to hang the donuts, such as a washing line or a tree

    How to play:

Tie each donut with a length of string and then suspend them at the appropriate height for the party-goers. Keeping all hands firmly behind the back, eat the donuts!

    cupcake eating contest:

all the kids line up with a cupcake in front of them and then race to be the first to eat it all, with NO hands.

With older kids you have to careful to not do lame with kiddie type games like pin the tale on the donkey.

Awww, I come up with pin the tail on the donkey lol. There is a Thomas the Tank Engine one you can buy, not sure where.
Scavenger hunt would be fun at their age.

My grandsons love a party with old fashioned party games like pass the parcel, musical statues, musical chairs. The favourite at the last party was one I made up on the spur of the moment. We had pieces of card scattered about numbered 1 to 6. When the music was playing the kids had to hop, skip, jump, dance, crawl (whatever was called). When the music stopped each child had to jump on a numbered card. I threw a large die and the kids on the number which came up were out.
If you can be outside they like things like everyone is given a matchbox and has to find and put 10 different things in it.
