If you think your kids are spending too much time playing video games on their Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PC or PSP or Playstation Portable consoles then you may have a reason to be concerned, but not worried. Before you tell your child to put down the game remote and pick up a text book you should consider one fact and that is that there is a professional video game circuit out there with professional gamers who earn thousands, even millions of dollars.
South Korea has a genuine passion for playing video games. This is a video game obsessed nation. The electronic gaming events in this country can draw up to 100,000 spectators at a single event. Their cyber athletes make hundreds of thousands of dollars playing in tournaments that are televised nationwide. Some of them are so popular they cannot go out in public without body guards to shield them from adoring fans. They even date movie stars and get their faces on the covers of newspapers and magazines.
Recently there was an electronic gaming tournament held in Seoul, South Korea at Jamsil Indoor Stadium. This event was the equivalent of our Superbowl. The game of choice for this event was StarCraft, which is a web game that is played on PCs. This event was nationally televised and broadcast on the Internet. The audience of 1.78 million who viewed it on television and online were glued to their seats as they watched the daylong event unfold. They came to watch the most popular gamer in their country strut his stuff.
His name is Lim Yo Hwan, he is 27 years old and he is the Mick Jagger of e-sports in South Korea. This young man has made quite a name for himself playing StarCraft, the only game that matters on the video game circuit in this country. His fans wanted to see him put on a show, and he did, winning the event easily with a take home prize of $20,000. Lim Yo Hwan has won many of these events in recent years and this has put his income in the six figure category. Not bad for playing video games.
The United States has some Superstar cyber athletes too who make a very good living on the electronic gaming circuit. The brightest star in this country is a 26 year old man named Johnathan Wendel, otherwise known to his fans as Fatal1ty, which is his screen name. He lives in Kansas City, Missouri but his reputation lives all over the world.
Johnathan became a professional gamer at the age of 19, and in the past seven years he has won 41 major eSports video game tournaments. He has won more electronic gaming competitions than anyone else in America. Johnathan has also done very well financially, winning over $450,000 in prize money.
Johnathan Wendel has traveled all over the world playing in video game tournaments. To date he has played on every continent except Antarctica. These tournaments have been held at some very interesting, unique and famous places including the Great Wall Of China and Red Square in Moscow, so the idea of holding one in Antarctica some day may be not be so far fetched.
Everywhere Johnathan goes he is swarmed by fans who just love the way he plays video games. All of his expenses are paid when he travels and he lives like a rock star. With world championships in five different video games, Johnathan is considered by most in his sport to be the best in the world. No other gamer has even come close to matching his accomplishments.
In November of 2006 Johnathan Wendel defeated his biggest nemesis and won the world championship for his fifth video game, PainKiller, and in doing so he took home a prize check for $150,000. He defeated the reigning world champion for that game, a 20 year old man from Holland that goes by the screen name Vo0.
Johnathan is becoming more and more popular every day as he continues to shine as a Superstar in the world of professional gamers. He is a force to be reckoned with in the Cyberathlete Professional League. He has recently launched a line of Fatal1ty products that include such things as mouse pads, headsets and keyboards that are made specifically for playing video games. He has a marketing Guru named Mark Walden working with him and both expect to make millions of dollars selling these products to gamers worldwide.
The video gaming industry is expected to make $30 billion dollars this year selling video games and consoles for products like Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP. This is an enormous amount of money that is more than twice the yearly grosses of the NBA, NFL and Major League Baseball combined. With this kind of money involved and hundreds of millions of people playing video games all over the world the sport of professional video gaming is starting to attract major advertising sponsors and merchandising companies.
Professional video gamers are no longer just kids who are wasting their time spending endless hours playing video games. Many of them have managed to transform a hobby into a lucrative career. There are hundred of thousands, and even millions of dollars being made these days by gamers who travel the world all expenses paid and live like rock stars.
So the next time you think your child is spending too much time playing Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC or PSP games you should not worry too much. If they show more than the average amount of interest in the sport of electronic gaming, try not to discourage them from playing video games. It is important for you to realize that they may not just be playing games when they sit down in front of their television or computer, they could also be training to be a world famous cyber athlete millionaire.

I think one of the best things to do is just live rolling like at our martial arts school….either start from the ground on your knees or from standing and go a round with one person then change partners. its pretty basic and puts your techniques to the test. it also helps to start in postitions that put you in a disadvantage like mount or a near submission, hope this helps.

In every kind of game, you need to practice in order to improve. Just like table tennis, you have to train in order to elevate your game and have the advantage over your opponents. Many people thinks that table tennis is a simple game to play that will only require them to get the ball to the other side of the table. This may be true but the true essence of playing table tennis is by making the right decision in a very fast manner.
As soon as your opponent serves or as soon as your opponent returns the ball to your side of the table, you have to think of a strategy quickly in order to use the right swing, and strategically place the ball accurately on your opponent’s side of the table in order to work the ball to your advantage and let you prepare for a big finish.
Ball manipulation is a very important training in table tennis. You have to learn about the different swings involved in order to confuse your opponent and let them make a mistake by returning the ball to you with the wrong swing and provide you with a great drive.
In table tennis training, you will also learn how to recover from your mistakes. For example, if you offered a great ball to your opponent’s advantage, you have to prepare for the inevitable, which is the drive. In table tennis training, you will be able to know how to prepare for a big drive by reading your opponent’s swing. Depending on the position of their table tennis paddle and their body movements, you will be able to know what kind of swing they will be using against you. Through this, you will know if they are going to hit the ball with a spin, or if they are preparing to give you a powerful drive.
Low balls are also one of the difficult shots in table tennis. This kind of shot is where the ball dips and goes below the table. You have to know how you will be able to recover this seemingly impossible ball position as there are ways on how you can recover it and continue the game. With the proper table tennis training, you will be able to learn how to do this.
The service is considered to be one of the most important factors of the game. Usually, the service is the most advantageous position that you can ever be in. This is because you will be able to control the ball and also get your opponents to make a mistake early on in the game.
Basically, the most advantageous serves are serves that has spin in it in order to let your opponent reply with an easy ball that will help you reply with a more powerful swings, such as drives. Table tennis training will enable you to learn about the different kinds of serves, such as backspin serves, topspin serves and sidespin serves.
Ball manipulation helps a lot in table tennis. In your training, you will learn about how to manipulate the ball in order for your opponent to reply with mistakes that you can take advantage of.
So, if you want to improve your game in table tennis, try to get some training and work on the different strategies in order for you to have the advantage over your opponents and allow you to win more games.

Life is all about knowing the basics and being good at them. Cleaning, cooking, ironing, each has their own set of rules or guidelines. You boil in water not oil, clean windows with an old newspaper rather than a piece of cloth, and need specific temperatures for different materials. It’s the same with reading and writing; these are skills we carry with us for a very long time. Why not learn them properly while you can? This is why reading training is important, and online reading training especially moreso.
Children benefit the most from learning how to read and write at an early age. They sooner they master the basics, the sooner they can face their growing up years with literacy and confidence. But while it sounds simple enough to teach children about reading, there is nothing simple about it at all. Teaching a child anything can be hard, especially if you have to worry about getting it right. This is why online reading training exists; to serve as a guide for both you and your child in his or her first steps in the written world.
A parent has the advantage of choosing the pace of the child’s education online, something that is especially helpful if both parents work and have limited time with their child. It is also important to remember that while phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension are valuable, the key is to make your son or daughter enjoy the experience. Spend time with them and take them to the library. Let them pick out the books they’d like to read, then sit with them while they do so. Read them bedtime stories to further stimulate their interest in books. Even word games can be a great help; things like Scrabble for kids for example. The ways are numerous, and all with the same goal. Mix and match these and more and see what appeals to your child.
If training starts before the child reaches the age of ten, there is a good chance that he will not suffer in school and might even be ahead of his class. There is not a parent that doesn’t want that for their child. There is no reason to wait, and every reason to hurry.
If online reading training is not enough to help your child, be it because of special circumstances or merely a lack in time, it would be in your best interest to find a tutor who would be willing to take over in teaching the basics.

Puppy training starts as soon as your new puppy arrives at his new home. Before you bring him home look at puppy names and decide what you are callling him. Below is a list of puppy training tips to guide you during the first month of acquiring your pet.
Week One: During your puppy’s first week home (he should be around 8 weeks old), it is important to take him for a vet check up. Sample of his stool is checked for worms and preventive inoculations are given. As I said puppy training starts on day one by calling him by his new puppy name.
Set up his eating area as well as his crate or sleeping quarters. Begin the process of house training as well as collar and leash training. Watch him while he plays by himself and observe his style and personality. Play gently and enthusiastically but avoid rough housing. Say “Ok” whenever you feed him, hand him a toy or a treat as you walk out the door with him. Use plenty of praise all the time.
Week Two: As you play with your puppy, gradually add simple phrases and words into the games. If he is retrieving, say “Take it “as you throw the object. Praise him when he brings the object back to you. Say “Out” as he drops it and praise him again. Continue with “Ok” during meal, for going out, with playing, housebreaking, leash training, and observing.
Week Three: During the third week of puppy training begin to correct him gently for nipping and for chewing on shoes, cords, and furniture. Provide a toy for him to chew instead. Even if he stays inside the house, be sure to walk him around on his leash everyday. Always use eye contact. Say “Watch me” to draw his attention to your eyes. Praise him for looking at you. This method teaches him to look to you for direction.A great leash training idea is to begin tying his leash to your belt and have him trail around wherever you go; starting for a few minutes at a time, working up to an hour as it becomes easier. This will help him bond to you and will also help with his puppy training.
Start teaching table manners, beginning with “No” and “Ok” for food. Initiate the “Sit” and “Stay”, working for no more than five minutes at a time this week. If you are at home most of the time, make sure that you leave him alone for short periods of time during the day to get him used to being alone. Begin to correct the stealing of food and found objects – keeping in mind that prevention is your best correction. Correct excessive barking, noise, and whining.
Week Four: Carry on with all of the above puppy training, adding more time that he walks properly on leash. Continue practicing “No” and “Ok” with food no more than twice per week. Continue to let him explore the house under supervision, both on and off the leash. Initiate the “Come” and “Down stay” to your puppy training program. Work with your puppy no more than fifteen minutes at a time. If he is going out, you may start teaching him to “Heel” but do it very gently. Get him used to grooming procedures such as brushing, nail clipping, and occasional baths. Always make sure that every puppy training session is run as a game that way your puppy will enjoy himself whilst being trained.

If you asked your dad about the video games he used to play back when he was a little kid, he’d tell you about archaic games like Pacman, Pong, Pinball, and maybe even the old classic Space Invaders. And, if you’re a genuine member of the generation X, you wouldn’t be able to help but scoff or maybe have a good laugh at the sheer antiquity of these titles.
The coin-operated machines of the 1980’s are no match for the Arcade games of today. Back then, the gamers had to content themselves with simple, two dimensional games with shoddy graphics. You might give the graphics of Donkey Kong 1 a rating of 1/10 today, but back in the days of your father, they would’ve given it a whopping 10/10.
Arcades back then were three times more popular than the arcades of today for a single reason. If you were a gamer in the 1980’s, you would’ve had no choice but to go to the Arcades to satisfy your craving for games. Whereas the gamers of today only have to go on-line to one of the free arcade game websites and proceed to spend the whole day playing free arcade games in the comfort of their own homes.
Now, even with all the breath-taking graphics and mind-blowing innovations, Arcades still haven’t regained their former popularity. But the modern arcade does have its prodigies. One of which is the Dance Dance Revolution. People instantly became addicted to this novel sensation. The person who pioneered the marriage of dancing and gaming was a genius. Other innovative games followed in the wake of the dance dance revolution, like the baby of music and gaming, DrumMania. This game emulates the feel of playing real drums, and you have to bang the drum at exactly the right time to get a good score. These games appeal to the natural impulse of people to show off, as the best players are applauded in the Arcades. Not even the release of the dance pad, which can be bought from stores and allow you to play in the comfort of the gamers’ home could bring down the Arcade Titan that was dance dance revolution. If anything, the gamers who bought these dance pads only used them as training grounds for the real battlefield which could be found in the Arcades.
Indeed, the games back then were every bit as addictive as the games of today. Arcade games are the craze of the youth then and now and you can only wonder what the future has in store for arcade games.

In Major League Baseball, spring training is a series of exhibition games preceding the regular season. It serves the purpose of both auditioning players for final positions in the team and giving players practice prior to competitive play.
Spring training has always been a wonderful attraction for the fans, drawing crowds who travel to parts of the country with moderate seasonal climates to enjoy the great weather and watch their favorite teams play at the same time. It is also great time to spend time with the family together enjoying the training of your favorite team. Your kids will definitely enjoy it and will get to see how teams practice prior to actual games. If your child’s school schedule allows it, this would be a great experience for him or her. For most of the teams, spring training lasts about a month and a half, from early March to the opening of the season. You can take advantage of the various locations where the teams conduct spring training and take a short vacation. Spring season is the ideal time to enjoy both the games of your favorite baseball team and have a vacation with your family and friends.
For your family and friends to get the most out of spring training, I have prepared some advice and guidelines. To begin with, let me say that the best moments to go see the spring training is in the first few weeks. This is because at the beginning of the training, the players are more relaxed overall and players display more of the spirit of training. After the first few weeks and as baseball season nears, however, the player’s attitudes become more serious, and the players won’t be so relaxed with the public. Furthermore, some players are sent home before the end of the spring training, so the best time is to go in the first weeks of February. I have also noticed that most of the people only attend the games. If possible, my advice is that you should go to the rookie training camps too.
You can enjoy most of the spring-training facilities at no charge if you pay a few extra dollars to park your car. Why is that? Well, a few years ago my kids bumped into the MLB ball players practicing as we toured the facilities. This is really something that would never happen if we were hanging around at a stadium during regular-season play. So, with a little bit of luck you can get their autograph, shake hands, and talk with some of your favorite baseball players. Be sure to have some autograph-able items like baseball bats, pictures, or magazines handy in case such occasions arise.
There are other small things that you can do too. For example, most of the players are used to signing autographs after the training sessions. While getting autographs, you are also more likely to take close up pictures of the players because of the playing ground that they train on. These opportunities should not be missed.

I’m trying to get a feel for specifically what types of companies use mini-games or simulators to train in new employees. Sandwich companies or banks or manufacturing companies? Any ideas? Is there a certain type of company that has a demand for training games?
Veterinary clinics use a game called VetQuest. It’s like Trivial Pursuit, and makes learning the vet business fun and competitive.
