Increase your Business With Opt-in Lists

Increase Your Business with Opt-In Lists

There are a number of myths related to internet marketing that need to be addressed. These misconceptions are indeed an obstacle and may well thwart your business from generating a significant profit if you do not understand the fallacies built up around the use of opt-in lists.

Myth Number 1: Not everyone uses e-email

Almost every person in the globalised world has access to the internet. In reality, virtually every literate individual has access to e-mail. The simplicity and availability of e-mail allows users around the world to stay informed and remain in contact. This is why e-mail marketing has become one of the foremost marketing tools adopted by businesses the world over. This is evident in the numerous entry forms available on the internet, asking users to opt-in before processing the various transactions and page requests. The fact is that e-mail is a successful online marketing tool.

Myth Number 2: E-mail campaigns may offend people

The easy way to ensure recipients of your e-mail marketing campaign are not offended is to ask their permission. By utilising only permission-based advertising, you will reach an audience who has signed up, or opted-in, to receive such advertising campaigns from you. Everyone becomes a winner.

Myth Number 3: It makes no sense mass e-mailing so many people

By filtering your opt-in subscribers through their profiles, you can ensure that your e-mail campaign is limited to those that may offer your business better metrics and a higher return on investment. By not sending e-mail campaigns to those who do not fall under your target category, you are only targeting those who might be interested in what you have to offer.

The truth about building opt-in lists

Having cleared up any confusion relating to myths about e-mail marketing, you will now find out how to benefit from utilising e-mail campaigns through opt-in lists.

Building an opt-in list may not be as easy as it seems for the novice. The following information and tips allow you to succeed in your e-mail marketing campaign.

1.Strategic Data Collection

By understanding your audience you will be able to launch strategic marketing campaigns. Information gathered voluntarily from your opt-in users should include their full name and e-mail address, as well as more precise information relating to demographics. Ensure that opt-in profiles are regularly updated to ensure the relevance and success of your e-mail marketing campaigns.

2. Implementation

There are numerous methods and programs available to facilitate the collection of data for an opt-in database. Building an opt-in list no longer has to be laborious and specific information can often be retrieved with a few clicks of a mouse.

You should also utilise technology to track your e-mail marketing campaign and ensure its effectiveness. The results from tracking your current campaign can help to make other future campaigns more effective. You should also closely monitor the high traffic users within your opt-in database and note their activity and interests for successful future campaigns.

You don’t need to blow the budget whilst leveraging various online channels. The following tips provide you with information on how to maximise the success of your opt-in list:

1. Make the best use of your web site

Your web site is the perfect data collection tool. Add a form inviting visitors to consent to receiving e-mail marketing campaigns and offers.

2. Make use traditional advertising mediums

This includes the use of brochures, direct mail, print advertisements, radio and television. Always ensure your web site is legible and visible throughout any advertising campaigns. Inviting visitors to the site for the purpose of offering more information is an ideal tool for increasing opt-ins through sign-ups for offers and other campaigns. Free e-newsletters, or e-blasts, and reward programs draw loyalty and return users to your site.

3. Maximize your sales force.

Your sales force can maximise your return on investment by utilising e-mail as a form of correspondence. By strategically providing the option of special offers and programs through e-mail, your team is able to increase your opt-in numbers.

4. Don’t make your point of sale pointless.

Employ every available space. High footfall locations such as the area around cash registers can be a great way to increase your opt-in list. By offering the opportunity to receive further information on special offers and incentive days, you can draw in greater numbers of opt-in consumers to your list.

5. Conferences and trade shows

Through offering the opportunity to ‘win it big’ in a sweepstake you can increase your opt-in list greatly. It is important not to apply too much complication and too many questions to the form that might deter interested parties from submitting their details. You don’t want to frustrate your audience and you certainly want to gain their trust, so keep the forms as simple as possible.

Armed with this knowledge of opt-ins, you can confidently increase the success of your marketing campaigns through building a business opt-in lists.

Good Luck!

The Benefits Of Energisers For Your Event

Energisers can have a dramatic impact on your audience, they can wake up, motivate and completely energise your conference or event, ensuring that your audience is listening to your message. With careful planning they can transform your event.

So how do you know which are the best energisers for your event and for your group? There are a number of factors that will help to steer you in the right direction. Firstly take a look at your numbers, how many people are going to take part and think about how this can affect the logistics of any energiser you have consider.

Will you need a large room for the energisers? If so are you certain your conference room is suitable? If you are not sure, ask the team building company for their advice. What style of meeting room set up have you got? If it’s theatre style, don’t consider an energiseing activity which involves delegates sitting at a table.

What do you want to achieve from hosting one? Do you want to ensure that they are awake? If that’s your main objective then plan carefully the timing, perhaps after lunch may be the optimum time for it. If it’s to grab delegates attention and to get them communicating with each other, then you need to look at hosting it early on at your conference or event.

Think carefully about your conference objectives, any themes or keywords that you are communicating to your delegates and see if you can tie them into your energiser. There are many different types of energisers that can illustrate communication, back to basics or working with limited resources. Talk to your team building company, they will be able to advise you on which would best illustrate your company message.

If you have space in your conference itinerary for more than one energiser, then the optimum is three energisers. The first one would be at the start of your conference, wake them up and break the ice. Second session would be after lunch where delegates are more inclined to sit back and fall asleep and the third session is at the end of your conference so you can really energise and leave each and every delegate on a real high, ensuring that your conference message is heard and remembered.

One key element that many conference organisers forget is that you use a conference energiser to energise your delegates, to wake them up and to motivate them. Your delegates will be eager to listen and on a high, it’s now crucial that the next activity or speaker is engaging, the person presenting has to be charismatic and enthusiastic because this is when you could lose your audience.

Some organisers make the mistake of not placing enough importance on energisers but by carefully choosing effective activities could be the difference between hosting a typical conference and hosting a motivating memorable effective conference.

Top 4 Reasons People Fail in Their Network Marketing Business

Most people fail miserably in their network marketing business. Even though “it’s easy” and “anybody can do it” according to the Guru at the front of the room. Here are the top four reasons people fail in their network marketing business:

1. Lack of money

A lot of people just don’t have the money to market their business. The days of “Make a list and talk to your friends and family” are gone. Do you really think the big dogs on stage are still doing that? Absolutely not. They are investing every month in some form of marketing, and so should you. Luckily, you don’t need much money. With the emergence of the internet over a billion people become available to you through social sites, forums, groups and chat rooms.

If you learn the art of social marketing, along with sort of advertising that captures leads through pay-per-click, solo ads, article marketing, blogging etc, you should be able to capture a decent amount of leads with as little as $50 to $100 a month! You should also strongly consider a Funded Proposal, a method of marketing that creates income for you up-front, while producing all the leads you need.

2. Lack of Activity

I have to admit, I’m lazy by nature, and I know I’m not alone! Give me a choice between something I WANT to do and something I HAVE to do and well… you get the idea. To combat that I have disciplined myself through making network marketing into a game. I play the game 30 minutes a day, and get points for business building activity. This has worked well for me.

Other people find business partners who they are accountable to every day, and communicate by e-mail or phone at the end of every day, comparing results and sharing ideas. Another method that works well is a team call where people can dial into a conference line and discuss the days work with several others. Just figure out a system that works for you, and commit to a small amount of reasonable activity every day, then teach your team to do the same, and if you are consistent and persistent, your team will be as well, and you will create duplication.

I don’t know who said this, but it’s absolutely true: “If you want your team to go into momentum, YOU have to go into momentum.”

3. Lack of People to Talk To

The big question is: Who are you going to talk to today? There are three types of leads:

1. Warm Market. These are the people that already know you and (hopefully!) trust you.

2. Purchased leads.

3. Self Generated leads.

Now here’s a tip I learned from one of our guest trainers, Dale Calvert: It’s all about WARM MARKET. But wait! You say. Then why are you telling me about Purchased and Self Generated leads? Simple. Your job is to turn all your leads into warm market leads. Most people make the mistake of thinking of them as “leads” instead of as PEOPLE! If you stop recruiting and start building your warm market, you will take pressure off of yourself, off of them, and your whole network marketing business will grow more naturally and be more rewarding.

4. Lack of Skills and Knowledge

My friend Pat Berry of the MLM Radio Show talks about becoming a “Skillionaire.” I love the metaphor. I know a lot of network marketing millionaires, and every single one of them has a high skill set. They know the industry inside out, they have developed great people skills, they are master communicators, and great marketers. And all of those things can be learned. Don’t make the mistake of thinking they were born that way. All of these skills can be developed.

Here’s a simple way to increase your skills (Thanks to Jim Rohn for these ideas!)

1. Read at least 10 pages a day in a personal development book.

2. Listen for at least 20 minutes a day to a good audio.

3. Attend a live seminar at least quarterly.

Three habits that are easy to incorporate into your life, and easy to do.

So those are the four reasons people fail, and some ideas on how to overcome them in your own marketing. Apply some of these ideas consistently to ensure your success in your network marketing business.

Secrets of Building Your Successful Home Business

Are you, like me, succoured every time you see a really good product or service being promoted on the Internet? Do you get $$ signs in your eyes when you realise that what is being offered has:-

A mass market appeal

An easily discussed bag of benefits

A proven track record, or at least powerful testimonials

A genuine saving for every user

An environmental advantage to its use

A great home business appeal

You immediately see the advantages in this product or service, so you jump on the bandwagon, get some samples, and see for yourself that all of the claims are actually true ( surprise surprise – not everyone on the Internet is a rogue!!).

With many types of networking products, such as Kleeneze, EcoFlow, Herballife, Neways etc in many cases your prospects or customers may well have to spend ‘extra money’ to obtain your products or services. They may be at a lower price from you, or more convenient, but in the main they are going to have to get their plastic out and make an ‘extra unplanned’ purchase.

There are a few exceptions to that, and the one major example that has been around for some time now, is the concept of persuading people to change their Utility service providers (phones, mobiles, gas, electricity etc) to a different provider. Utility Warehouse was a very successful example of that, and there are many distributors out there still making quite healthy monthly earnings, especially as these are partly derived from the amount of usage each customer makes of their services.

The only problem with this is that the market for utility suppliers over the last few years has become extremely saturated. In the main, distributors who set up 3, 4, or 5 years or more ago are now raking it in, with an increasing income for very little effort, whereas new distributors will find it a bit of a struggle to get established. And, to a certain extent, the market is limited to the number of homes in the UK.

So, ideally then, the best type of product or service to get involved in, is one that has:-

A massive local market

A world wide market

A mass consumer appeal

A major contribution to the improvement of our environment

An excellent commission structure

Well, one area of concern on virtually everybody’s lips is the high and increasing cost of fuel for our love of transport whether that is our cars, motor bikes, trucks, trains, busses, you name it, where fuel is required, and its price affects us all.

The other area on everybody’s lips id the topic of Global Warming, the draconian climate changes, and how our internal combustion engines contribute to all of these scary environmental changes.

So, let’s imagine a manufacturer comes along, and produces a ‘Magic Pill’. And this pill, when popped into any petrol or diesel tank, virtually as if by magic, has the following effect on their vehicle:-

It cuts your fuel costs by between 5 and 15% or more

It enables the vehicle to run on lower octane fuels – with another cost saving benefit.

It improves your vehicle’s performance (although if you have a heavy right foot, you may not get too much of the first benefit)

It reduces harmful emissions to a fraction of their original amount

The product is EPA approved, with a bonded world wide insurance against any engine damage.

This particular company used to supply NASA with their Launch Computer systems – they are a very cash-rich organisation.

On top of all this, let’s say that this product is only sold by ‘word of mouth’, or network marketing, so there is an immediate ability for many thousands of people to become distributors, with world-wide boundaries to where they can identity customers. This means that people can save money by buying their ‘Magic Pills’ themselves from a distributor, make a retail profit by selling to their friends and colleagues so they also save money, or become a distributor, and go out and find retail and distributor prospects. People can then make their fortunes by selling across International Boundaries.

Everything is then in place for the average Joe (including you and me) to make a veritable fortune, out of helping other people to save money, and do our bit to save the environment for our children’s sake.

But Whoa! At this point many people get cold feet, and totally lose the potential to create their own massive profitable home business.

Why?

1.Because they think they have to go out and SELL this product.

2. They think this is pyramid selling – so it must be illegal.

3. They think that they must become technical experts in engine design

4. They think that they will be incapable of doing what their sponsor is doing

But what if they can be slotted into a proven system that works, and is duplicatable?

What if they can use an Internet based system that can be run as well as any ‘word of mouth ‘ system, to remove most of the ’selling’ activities they fear doing themselves?

Say there was a semi automated solution that could assist every new distributor to obtain at least two more distributors every month, do you realise what the end result could well be, especially using such a ‘Magic Pill’ at its heart?

If you got two distributors involved each month, and had a system that could encourage each new distributor to sign up just 2 more distributors, do you realise how big your network could be after just a 12 month period?

Your first pair of distributors, if they had a system to sign up at least 2 each, and this continued for twelve months, this would create a team of over 1,000! And really, signing up just 2 distributors should not be beyond the wit of anybody who has half an interest in this sort of activity.

(2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024 2048 4096)

OK, so that is in a perfect world. We all know that not every distributor will do anything except complain, but some may do even better.

And also, you of course are still busily pumping in two new distributors every month, so the potential is enormous

With really successful network marketing systems, although you can automate a great deal these days thanks to internet technology, there is no substitute for human intervention in conjunction with these facilities. Once again, this raises the spectrum of ‘learning’ in a new distributor’s head, as after all, to wind them up and get them straight out there recruiting for you, the last thing they or you are going to want is a long training cycle.

There is no substitute to having a ‘Team Leader’ to whom you can call in on a ‘three way’ call. So, when combined with a lead tracking system that enables you to call up a pre-recorded 1 or 2 minute overview, leading to a visit to your powerful web site, then being able to make that planned follow up call the next day, and pull in your Team leader is a beautiful way to ensure a very high conversion rate.

A word of warning.

There are many examples of snake oil salesmen getting involved in ‘get rich quick’ scams with this type of product, and I had actually been succoured into one of them, so if you would like some advice on a really great product from what I can only describe as a company that doesn’t need the money, but where the owners want to leave behind a great legacy, please feel free to contact me personally.

Activity Day

Activity day can mean many different things to many different people. In some places, such as the UK, it can mean joining in various team-building games. These activity days can be held for a variety of different purposes.

One of the biggest purposes of activity days is to provide an incentive for employee and/or corporate groups. These event-filled days could also be a perfect motivator for the increased performance of non-profit groups as well.

Usually an activity day consists of games that are played by teams in a friendly yet competitive manner. Examples of games played during activity days include competitive events such as Sheep Dog Handling.

During a Sheep Dog Handling event, the sheep dog is instructed to guide Indian Runner Ducks around a course and then into a pen. The winner is chosen according to a specific list of criteria and that winner is given fun money as a prize.

Other games that can be played on activity day include archery, which is the act of shooting a bow into a target for points, and 4×4 off road racing. The ones who shoot the most points in archery wins and the ones who incur the least amount of penalties on the off road course wins.

In fact, those who decide to try out the 4×4 course will find themselves treading over steep climbs and drops, tight twisting turns, and deep mud and water. In order to avoid penalties on the course drivers must be able to proceed without stopping, getting stuck, or hitting marker polls.

Another racing event may also take place on activity day. This one is called the Quad Bike racing event. Another name for Quad Bike is called a four-wheeler. The Quad Bike event is very similar to the 4×4 event, because drivers will encounter similar landscape challenges such hills, bumps, and drops. Each Quad Bike trail requires quick turns and skillful maneuvering.

Another event similar to the Quad Racing or the 4×4 event is known as the Honda Pilots’ event. In this event drivers will maneuver in off road dune buggies. These buggies are small one-seat cars which have the same capabilities of an off road vehicle. Teams will work together to hopefully win the Honda Pilot challenge.

Activity days could also include a variety of other events as well. For example, there are events such as the Mission CCS or The Web. Each of these two games provides an exciting challenge for any corporate or non-profit team building event.

During the Mission CCS event teams must cross what looks like a minefield with the equipment they were given. The object is to carry hazardous material across the minefield before the contents cause a disaster.

The Web provides another skill-building event where a team must work together to accomplish the seemingly impossible. During this event teams travel through a 3D web and they are required to do so without touching it. Talk about hand-eye coordination exercise, and one that encourages trust between group members.

An activity day can include any of the above team-building and trust-building exercises. It can also include events that are designed just for the fun of it. For example, an activity day can include fairground rides, barbeques, banquets, and arena displays. There is no end to the activity day that could be planned for any group.

Team building activities for synchronized ice skating?

okay so i am on a synchronized ice skating team and we really need some good team biuld activities to get the team all together. in the past we have done stuff like sleepovers and parties but i really want something a lot more interesting and new….. so does anybody have any ideas?

please this really matters and any suggestions would be great!!! :)

My dance team went to Nationals last year and we went bowling for our team activity. It was really good because it was fun and we could still socialize unlike a movie or something. We all did our hair in matching pig tails and had pizza after. Another team builder we did was swimming at the pool. That was also really fun. Just think of something that the whole team would like. You can combine more than one activity too!

hey, anyone got any good idea's for team building activities for work?

Hello all, it has been assigned to me to plan a team building event for work. I work within the contruction industry so it's mainly men. I was thinking, archery, clay pigeon shooting. I did think about rock climbing but i don't want them all to see my ass squashed into a harness. lol. Any ideas? It will be based in Cornwall by the way.

Thanks xoxo

A group go Karting session can be fun and the women can compete more fairly against the men, it can be really embarrassing in a group of chauvinistic men.

The Art Of Building A Successful Team

In order for your career to grow, you must demonstrate effective leadership skills. Organizations are finally beginning to realize that soft skills are just as important as technical skills and therefore, are placing more emphasis on developing and rewarding effective leaders. One important skill for leaders to master is the ability to recruit high-potential talent into the organization.

The responsibility of recruiting these candidates doesn’t fall solely on the shoulders of your recruiter. There are many ways that you can enhance their efforts to attract the most sought after candidates. Recruiting shouldn’t be reactive – performed only when you have an opening on your team. It should be an ongoing activity so that your pipeline of candidates is full and you can start interviewing shortly after a need has been established. Follow these tips to make the most of your efforts:

1.Look to your existing employees for a promotional opportunity, first. You should always look within the organization before you consider external candidates. Reward employees who are actively developing their skills and are loyal to the company. Is there someone who is ready to take on new responsibilities?

2.If you are an active member of your professional community, start building a rapport with prospective candidates. Recruiting is a lot like marketing – the more positive contact you have with prospects, the more receptive they will be to talking to you about making a move to your organization. Keep in contact with those you would like to have on your team one day.

3.Build a reputation as a strong leader. This is one of those times when you want your reputation to precede you. If you are known for being a great leader, candidates will want to work for you. Year after year, “lack of opportunity” is cited as one of the main reasons for employee turnover. Judicious candidates know that their manager can make or break that opportunity and they make their decisions accordingly.

4.Don’t be intimidated by dynamic, high-potential candidates. I’ve seen many hiring managers pass over candidates because they were intimidated by their ambition. Instead of worrying about someone taking over your job (if this is an issue, you’ve got bigger problems to worry about), think about who could potentially replace you when you move on to a bigger role.

5.Avoid the temptation of hiring someone just like you. It’s great when you have a connection with a candidate, but try to remember that you aren’t hiring someone to be your friend. Instead, look for someone who will complement your team’s strengths and weaknesses.

6.Select candidates who are passionate about their work. Passion is difficult to ascertain during an interview. However, there are signs you can look for and questions you can ask to better determine if this is someone who is passionate about their work.

• Does their education and work history consist of positions that build on each other, demonstrating knowledge in their field and a desire for growth? Or, have they bounced around with little direction?

• Are they actively involved in their professional community? Do they take advantage of opportunities to develop new skills?

• Find out why they chose to get into this particular line of work.

• Make a note of their specific professional goals. “To be working in a position that utilizes my skills or to be a manager” doesn’t cut it. Is it just about the money or are they looking for growth or meaning in their work?

• Find out what aspect of their job they enjoy most.

7.Stop settling for mediocrity. Don’t be afraid to hold off on making a selection decision until you have the right candidate. Get creative in the way you manage your employee shortage. Consider redistributing the duties on your team and hiring a temporary administrative employee to take up the slack. This is a great time for your employees gain additional experience.

A Grand Team Building Event

The reason for planning team building events is to help create a more cohesive bond between workers and management. On the contrary, sometimes team building activities such as F1 car simulation races are planned simply for the fun of it. A simulation racing game day planned by a corporate office, retail outfit, or other place of employment can provide a break from the everyday routine. Besides, employees who participate in fun work-sponsored activities are more likely to get along with their co-workers.

One of the most “Grand” of team building events perhaps is a car racing simulation game. One of the types of cars that is featured in one of these computerized racing games is the Grand Prix. Usually a game simulation event is presented on a four foot by six foot screen or larger. Each “driver” will then sit behind the wheel of a car and steer as they “race” down a realistic-looking race track. Often simulated race track games are designed to allow groups of employees to compete against one another. The fact that this sport can be competitive could possibly seem anti-conducive to a positive work environment. However, nothing could be further from the truth-at least in most people’s eyes-and to the eyes of reputable employers.

As mentioned earlier in this article, fun games such as the racing simulation game can provide a break from the everyday office routine. This break from ordinary daily routines can help reduce the level of stress that a person experiences. In turn, employees are usually more likely to get along with one another better after events such as this. As far as the competitive aspect of car simulation racing is concerned, the level of play against fellow employee usually produces more positive exhilaration than hard feelings. Besides, this healthy form of competition could be a stepping stone towards improving office politics. One of the most “Grand” of simulated car racing events is the F1 simulator. This one can be both played by different individuals on their own, or as a group racing against one another.

All simulated car racing events are usually set up in a setting that looks as close to the way a real race track would look. For instance, real life sized flags may be used to determine the winner of a race or the floor of a simulation room could be shaped and set up like a real race track. This simulation game racing event could take included in a full schedule of activity day events. For instance a racing event could take place in between motivational speeches, live entertainment, and other team building activities. By the way, other types of team building activities include murder mysteries and treasure hunts. These types of games are often thought of as problem-solving games that both involve clues that lead to answers.

The purpose of problem-solving games is to promote working together as a group. Individualized employee skills are also brought out during these events as well. For example, managerial skills such as delegation and organization may be strengthened.
