Taking a group of typically non outside type people out to the desert. Hiking, rockhounding, etc. doesn't interest them. Anyone know any good large group games to play?
try playing paint ball ( war game ) type…..the radius of the playing area should be around 4km if 1- 5 ppl….10km if 6-15 ppl…15 km if 16-30 ppl…its a nice game to play with many ppl..the more the merrier…but you must first plan the game carefully and get the proper equipment…the game can result in total fun if plan carefully and it can result in total failure and trouble if something went wrong

Puppy training starts as soon as your new puppy arrives at his new home. Before you bring him home look at puppy names and decide what you are callling him. Below is a list of puppy training tips to guide you during the first month of acquiring your pet.
Week One: During your puppy’s first week home (he should be around 8 weeks old), it is important to take him for a vet check up. Sample of his stool is checked for worms and preventive inoculations are given. As I said puppy training starts on day one by calling him by his new puppy name.
Set up his eating area as well as his crate or sleeping quarters. Begin the process of house training as well as collar and leash training. Watch him while he plays by himself and observe his style and personality. Play gently and enthusiastically but avoid rough housing. Say “Ok” whenever you feed him, hand him a toy or a treat as you walk out the door with him. Use plenty of praise all the time.
Week Two: As you play with your puppy, gradually add simple phrases and words into the games. If he is retrieving, say “Take it “as you throw the object. Praise him when he brings the object back to you. Say “Out” as he drops it and praise him again. Continue with “Ok” during meal, for going out, with playing, housebreaking, leash training, and observing.
Week Three: During the third week of puppy training begin to correct him gently for nipping and for chewing on shoes, cords, and furniture. Provide a toy for him to chew instead. Even if he stays inside the house, be sure to walk him around on his leash everyday. Always use eye contact. Say “Watch me” to draw his attention to your eyes. Praise him for looking at you. This method teaches him to look to you for direction.A great leash training idea is to begin tying his leash to your belt and have him trail around wherever you go; starting for a few minutes at a time, working up to an hour as it becomes easier. This will help him bond to you and will also help with his puppy training.
Start teaching table manners, beginning with “No” and “Ok” for food. Initiate the “Sit” and “Stay”, working for no more than five minutes at a time this week. If you are at home most of the time, make sure that you leave him alone for short periods of time during the day to get him used to being alone. Begin to correct the stealing of food and found objects – keeping in mind that prevention is your best correction. Correct excessive barking, noise, and whining.
Week Four: Carry on with all of the above puppy training, adding more time that he walks properly on leash. Continue practicing “No” and “Ok” with food no more than twice per week. Continue to let him explore the house under supervision, both on and off the leash. Initiate the “Come” and “Down stay” to your puppy training program. Work with your puppy no more than fifteen minutes at a time. If he is going out, you may start teaching him to “Heel” but do it very gently. Get him used to grooming procedures such as brushing, nail clipping, and occasional baths. Always make sure that every puppy training session is run as a game that way your puppy will enjoy himself whilst being trained.

Paintball games have grown in diversity, developing into an assortment of tournaments and games. As its popularity grows so do the number of folks that try it. If you haven’t tried your hand at the paintball game, loosen up and don’t deprive yourself of some real fun. I’ve compiled a short list below. There are more but this should peak your interest.
Capture the Flag
2 Strategies:
1. Played by two teams, where each team has a flag and the objective of both teams is to capture or seize the opponentâs flag and carry it to your teamâs starting point.
2. Another way is by eliminating the opposing team entirely.
Each team has to defend their base and simultaneously dispatch team players to eliminate the opponent and capture their flag.
These games are usually played in the forest; bunkers and structures can be put up throughout the area.
Scenario Paintball
This is a paintball game with a theme set up behind it: there are an endless number of themes that can be created making the game feel and look very realistic. There are a number of players; in many cases as many as a hundred are involved in each team.
Each team gets the theme (storyline) a day before the start of the game. There are usually two teams participating, having the general as a teamâs leader.
Each player is given a role and they should work together as a team in order to carry out and win an assigned mission. Props in accordance with the theme are introduced and distributed throughout the field. There are questions asked in connection with the theme and points are awarded for correct answers.
These points are totaled at the conclusion of the game and the team having the most number of points wins.
Backyard
This can be played right at your own backyard, a friendâs empty property or at times any property but you must as you get permission first. You gather your friends to form a group and then conceptualize your own game which typically is capture the flag.
Speedball
Also called Center Flag, the speedball field is designed with many huge bunkers; usually inflatables filled with air that are shaped similar to big snakes, soda cans, water tanks etc.
Here, a team can be composed of between three to ten players in a game. There is only one flag that is involved and it is located at the center of a field. The two teams start at each end of the field and attempt to gain possession of the flag at the center and carry it to their bunker. The team that does this successfully wins.
Paintball Tournaments can surely challenge the âsoldierâ in you. Tournaments attract many spectators of all ages, as it is a very exciting game to watch. The sport of paintball has a distinct and accurate set of rules that are strictly followed. The producer of the tournament is the absolute authority in regard to either an alteration or addition to the rules; marshals oversee the event, and their decision is always final.
There must be a lot of team work involved, as everyone moves through the field. As a team member moves, there should be others to guard and keep watch and give off covering shots when necessary. A team that moves together with a common objective will have a great chance of succeeding in this game.
Communication in the field is also very important. A team-mate can shout the position of the opponent. The moment that a player is seen, the game for that player is up; so there is no reason for you to keep quite; instead, inform the others the location of the enemy.
The excitement of this game concludes when you are seen and eliminated – a situation that all team players struggle to avoid.

If you’ve been living in the corporate world for some time, you’ve probably attended a training session where one of the exercises was to conduct a “time spent” analysis in order to increase your efficiency. You cracked open your calendar, reviewed how you spent your time for the past week, and identified black holes that were wasting your energy. Maybe you even went so far as to break your activities into categories, separating the “urgent” things from the “important” things and both of these from the “insignificant” things.
Time management studies like these can be interesting, but the findings are almost always the same. Virtually every manager who works through the exercises discovers that he or she is spending too much time on “putting out fires” — dealing with the daily dramas and emergencies around the office — and not enough time thinking and planning for long-term projects that really matter. E-mails, instant messages, phone calls, and that guy from Purchasing who drops in “just for a second” and chews the fat for 45 minutes undo our best-laid plans — not to mention the endless, interminable, usually pointless meetings.
We know all this. Why doesn’t it ever change?
The problem lies in our approach. Time management programs usually focus on your personal productivity, analyzing how you choose to spend your time. This is all fine and dandy, but it misses one essential truth: In an organization that’s devoted to banging pots, you better bang pots or have a damn good reason for not banging them.
That’s why, after the PowerPoint presentation had ended and the trainer went home, you fell back into your old, unproductive rhythms — not because you didn’t agree with the time management expert’s analysis, but because you returned to normal life in the world of The Middle . . . which means doing what you think your boss wants you to do. Bang! Bang! Bang!
Managing Your Managers
In order to take back your time, your life, and your career, you need to make a new kind of change in your approach to self-management. You must step into the realm of managing your managers and thereby altering their expectations related to your time. The goal is to achieve complete alignment between what your bosses want (and perhaps need) you to do and what you believe you really should do.
In the same way that you coordinate the schedule in your PDA and your laptop with the one in your desktop computer, you need to continually coordinate with your bosses to ensure that you are clear, on track, and working from the same plan.
All of this starts with having a happy and supportive boss. And that means a successful boss. Your boss has to be successful. For if he is not, his failure may cast a negative light on everyone on his team. Many potentially great careers have been stalled, not because of the effort of the individual, but because of a boss who failed to make an impact, who failed to demonstrate his own value and the value of those on his team.
The first step in managing your manager is to move beyond your own needs to examine your bosses’ needs. Sounds reasonable — but understanding those needs and figuring out what to do to meet them isn’t usually straightforward. In fact, it’s a challenge in itself, requiring a whole new set of skills most people have never thought about.
Needs Explicit and Needs Implicit
Let’s start by dispelling a common misunderstanding. Lots of people in business assume that “meeting the boss’s needs” means doing exactly what the boss wants them to do — accepting the boss’s vision and direction wholesale. Wrong! This assumption is simple-minded and inaccurate. It leads to managers in The Middle focusing on aligning their lips with their boss’s backsides rather than meeting anyone’s actual needs.
Real “managing upward” demands a more serious and subtle analysis of human needs, which starts with the realization that needs come in two forms — explicit needs and implicit needs.
Explicit needs are easier to understand. They may be stated in the strategic plan promulgated by the company or the division, or they may be announced by your boss whenever the team gets together for the usual pep talk/torture session. They may sound something like this:
· “We need to expand our business internationally!”
· “We need to create a shipping policy that will save us some money and keep the administrative assistants from running around the office like decapitated chickens every afternoon at 4 p.m. when the FedEx guy makes his last pickup.”
· “We need to commerce-enable our Web site before Amazon.com decides to start selling the same kinds of widgets we sell and drives us out of business.”
· “We need to hire two more designers, fast, so we’ll have a prayer of getting the fall product line into the stores sometime this year.”
Explicit needs are the kinds of things that make it into the lists of goals you write every year at objective-setting time. They’re the things you tell people you’re working on when they ask. They tend to be the things you are proud of accomplishing (if and when you happen to accomplish one of them).
Implicit needs are more subtle. People don’t talk about them. Sometimes they’re not even aware of them. Most of the time they are things that people would deny if confronted with them. They sound like this:
· “Make me look good in front of my boss so that when he gets kicked upstairs he’ll recommend me for his job.”
· “Help me demonstrate my creativity by coming up with some ideas for next year’s marketing campaign that I can tweak a little and show off at the next divisional conference as if they were mine.
· “Help me feel more like a leader and less like the kid who was always picked last in the schoolyard basketball games.”
· “Figure out some way to keep the department running when I’m not around so I can go on vacation for ten days in a row without having to call the office every two hours to make sure the damned place isn’t on fire.”
While explicit needs tend to run a linear path, implicit needs tend be random, triggered by emotion and circumstance. But don’t think of them as flighty and certainly not as insignificant. They are ever-present, tenacious, and can overrule the explicit needs with a swiftness and power that can be awe-inspiring.
It’s a fun exercise to sit down with a sheet of paper and try listing your boss’s implicit needs. It’s also deadly serious. From the first day you meet your new boss through the last day you work together, you need to devote a portion of your time and energy to scoping out his or her implicit needs and defining them with as much precision as possible. Then measure whatever you do against those needs. (Your boss certainly will.)
One implicit need that virtually every boss has (and therefore belongs on the to-do list of every ignited manager) is the need for confidence. Your boss must have confidence that you are working in his best interest and that you are capable of delivering what he needs (both explicitly and implicitly). Fail to maintain this confidence and your boss will most likely drive you crazy — and will often drive you out.
We’ve all been there. The boss who last week simply set a goal and gave us the freedom to carry it out suddenly wants to micromanage every phone call we make this week. Sometimes it’s because they’ve lost confidence in us; other times it’s because their bosses have lost confidence in them, producing a sort of trickle-down anxiety that may end up with you being hypercritical of the dinosaur diorama your nine-year-old makes for science class. Giving your boss a sense of confidence in you is perhaps the most fundamental of all the implicit needs and the one without which no managerial relationship can succeed.
Understanding the implicit and explicit needs of your boss and his bosses sets a course by which you can align your own efforts. When that alignment is clear and accurate, you’re on track to creating an environment in which traction is possible.
Management Value Added
The concept of Management Value Added (MVA) is based on a simple question that you should ask whenever you’re making a decision about how to invest your time and energy: “What value does management add?” And how can your actions “add value” to any situation in business? That’s right — by helping to meet your bosses’ needs.
One way to start using the concept of MVA is by sitting down with your boss to discuss his or her explicit needs (the ones written down as part of the company’s strategy or the division’s official mandate). It shouldn’t take long for the two of you to agree on what they are and to prioritize them appropriately. Then ask your boss, “How do you feel I can add the most value?” If your boss responds, “Huh?” you can flesh out the question with additional questions like these:
· “What are the activities I am engaged in when I am contributing the most?”
· “What are the activities that you and the company most need me to do?”
· “What do you consider to be the best and most productive use of my time?”
· “What do you think is the special contribution that I am best positioned to offer to you and the company?”
· “Of all the things that I’m engaged in on behalf of this company, what are the three areas where you believe that I can contribute the most?”
Listen carefully to your boss’s answers. Using them as a guide, you can begin to understand exactly how your boss views your contributions. It’s quite likely that the way he or she measures your MVA is different from the way you might measure it.
Here’s what one of my bosses had to say when I asked him to define my most important areas for MVA:
1. “Hiring, nurturing, and guiding talent; putting the right people in the right jobs with the right goals.”
2. “Building capability; teaching my team members and creating an environment conducive to challenging thought and growth:”
3. “Staying close to the customers — understanding what’s important to them, what their challenges are, and how our company can provide them with solutions.”
Of course, this exercise will relate only to your boss’s explicit needs. (Don’t try to engage him in a discussion of his implicit needs. There’s a good reason why they’re implicit.) Having these priorities clearly defined is an enormous step forward and an advantage that surprisingly few managers enjoy. It provides you with a framework you can share with others on your team and allows you to use the test of MVA in your quest to get past pot banging.
You can use MVA to help you determine how to spend your time, which projects to support, and which meetings to attend. In my case, before committing energy to any new activity, I ask myself: “Will this activity help me achieve my priorities? Will it help me put the right people in the right jobs? Will it help me build capability? Will it help me know and connect with our customers?” If the answer is no, I avoid the activity — even if it sounds otherwise interesting, appealing, or fun.
MVA helps you maintain a focus on the things that matter while earning the support of those you serve. When your boss or someone else in the organization asks you to commit time or energy to an area that falls outside of the MVA priorities you’ve established, you can talk about how new commitment may affect your main goals and reach a joint decision as to whether a shift in priorities is warranted.

San Francisco 49ers tickets were once the premier sports tickets in the country. The 49ers’ run in the 1980’s and early 1990’s is nearly unmatched in the history of the NFL. The team featured some of the best and most recognizable players and coaches on the planet, and for years, the team was the gold standard by which every other NFL club was measured.
Since then, however, the team has gone almost literally from the “penthouse” to the “outhouse.” The 49ers finally had years of salary cap issues catch up with them, and they bottomed out completely in recent years. It was hard to imagine, when watching the team over the past couple of seasons, that this was the best team in football for so many years. Below we’ll look at how the rebuilding effort is coming along, and attempt to answer whether the 49ers can realistically expect to return to their perch atop the NFL anytime soon.
New Coach
Mike Nolan is currently in his second season with the 49ers, and his first season was a total washout. Nolan had no talent to work with as the team attempted to right their salary cap situation, and he almost had to play a rookie QB with no playmakers around him. As expected, the team finished with a dismal 4-12 record, and San Francisco 49ers tickets were basically being given away outside the stadium.
However, Nolan did get to work on laying a cultural foundation, and he jettisoned veterans who weren’t buying in to his plan. He took his lumps with his young players as they gained experience, and he instilled a discipline that had been missing in San Francisco for many years. If one wanted to take a close look at how Nolan was doing, he or she needed to dig much deeper than the team’s record.
New Quarterback
Alex Smith came into the league in 2005 as the top pick in the NFL draft. There simply is not any situation in football where a player can come into the league with higher expectations and more pressure, as every QB who is the top overall pick is expected to be a franchise savior. Looking at past results, some of these top picks succeed and others fail.
After the 2005 season was completed, the jury was still way out on Smith. He threw only one touchdown pass against 11 interceptions, but again, he had no talent around him. So far in 2006, Smith has shown marked improvement. He’s got a few more players around him, but it’s hardly an all-star team. Regardless, Smith is having a much better season, is showing much more football-savvy on the field and has led the 49ers to more wins in 2006 after 10 games than they had in all of 2005.
Overall Progress
It appears that the centerpieces are in place with a good coach and a talented young QB. Those are usually the most difficult pieces to find when building a team, so now that the 49ers are getting cap-healthy, it’s time to start adding complimentary pieces that will push the team over the top.
Overall, the 49ers are headed in the right direction. It’s going to take a few more seasons with good drafts and wise free agent additions, but if the team can keep their momentum, San Francisco 49ers tickets will be “the” sports tickets to get once again.

I think we all have heard the adage, âWhat you focus on expands.â So why is it then that business owners and entrepreneurs will spend countless hours and tons of resources focused on solving the problems in their business? Why arenât they focused on the opportunities all around them? Hereâs a real life story that will explain why.
A few weeks ago I attended a revolutionary program called Christopher Howardâs Billionaire Bootcamp. One day we played a game where we simulated building and selling a business. At some point an idea was born from our team that was worth a million dollars. Our acting âCEOâ and I began to draft a proposal and go through all the hoops to pitch it. The idea was accepted and we were told that we would win the game (and the $800 plus dollars on the line) if we took this same strategy and duplicated it five more times. All we had to do was rewrite the contracts.
At this point, one of the team members came to me with a crisis. Apparently, someone had received some huge penalties and the team was panicking about the financial impact. The âCEOâ pulled us all together and said, âWe have to brainstorm a way to solve this problem.â The entire team got sidelined from making money and focused instead on how to solve the problem.
Within about 15 minutes, something clicked inside my head and I began to wonder, was this really the best use of our time? I knew we had a potential $5 â 10 million dollar deal on the table that wasnât getting our attention.
I asked, âHow much does this problem cost us?â No one knew the answer. We tallied it up and the problem was going cost us about $300k.
Now, here is the real kicker. All of our energy and focus was on solving a problem that was worth ONLY $300k. We were NOT FOCUSED on the opportunity that was worth over $5 million that would have made this problem completely go away.
How many times have you missed opportunities in your business or life because you were consumed with how to fix a problem?
The point is this. When you are worried, consumed and stuck by a problem, you donât have the energy or the time to focus on the opportunities. You probably wonât even see them.
Did we win the game? Well, luckily, I was able to redirect one of our team members to go resolve the problem with as little impact as possible. But, the âCEOâ and I were able to get only one of the million dollar deals through in the time we had left. We did not win the game.
Every member of our team walked away with a valuable lesson. Always focus upwards towards the big wins. The payoff will probably cancel out and make completely insignificant the smaller problems. Here are a few questions to help you determine where your focus needs to be.
* What does the problem cost compared to the opportunities on the table?
* Will having this problem cause you to be unable to pursue the opportunities (in other words, does it negatively impact your resources or time?)
* What is the worst that could happen if you donât resolve it? Compare that to the positives of what would happen if the opportunity is achieved.
* Would the problem cause long-lasting damage that you could not recover from?
* If you focus on creating a bigger opportunity, would it eliminate or mitigate the problem?
Sometimes you donât have to focus so much on solving problems. Use your creative energy to create opportunities that are bigger than any of your problems. One of my friends and mentors, Stephanie Frank, author of the Accidental Millionaire, said something once that has always stuck with me. âYou can focus on the debt and stay in debt. Or you can focus on creating the wealth that WILL easily eliminate the debt. I chose focusing on wealth.â
Take a few minutes each day to do a âfocus check.â Are you focused on the problem or on the bigger picture? Changing your focus is going to make a massive difference in your results.

They may be at a lower price from you, or more convenient, but in the main they are going to have to get their plastic out and make an ‘extra unplanned’ purchase.
There are a few exceptions to that, and the one major example that has been around for some time now, is the concept of persuading people to change their Utility service providers (phones, mobiles, gas, electricity etc) to a different provider. Utility Warehouse was a very successful example of that, and there are many distributors out there still making quite healthy monthly earnings, especially as these are partly derived from the amount of usage each customer makes of their services.
The only problem with this is that the market for utility suppliers over the last few years has become extremely saturated. In the main, distributors who set up 3, 4, or 5 years or more ago are now raking it in, with an increasing income for very little effort, whereas new distributors will find it a bit of a struggle to get established. And, to a certain extent, the market is limited to the number of homes in the UK.
So, ideally then, the best type of product or service to get involved in, is one that has:-
A massive local market
A world wide market
A mass consumer appeal
A major contribution to the improvement of our environment
An excellent commission structure
Well, one area of concern on virtually everybody’s lips is the high and increasing cost of fuel for our love of transport whether that is our cars, motor bikes, trucks, trains, busses, you name it, where fuel is required, and its price affects us all.
The other area on everybody’s lips id the topic of Global Warming, the draconian climate changes, and how our internal combustion engines contribute to all of these scary environmental changes.
So, let’s imagine a manufacturer comes along, and produces a ‘Magic Pill’. And this pill, when popped into any petrol or diesel tank, virtually as if by magic, has the following effect on their vehicle:-
It cuts your fuel costs by between 5 and 15% or more
It enables the vehicle to run on lower octane fuels – with another cost saving benefit.
It improves your vehicle’s performance (although if you have a heavy right foot, you may not get too much of the first benefit)
It reduces harmful emissions to a fraction of their original amount
The product is EPA approved, with a bonded world wide insurance against any engine damage.
This particular company used to supply NASA with their Launch Computer systems – they are a very cash-rich organisation.
On top of all this, let’s say that this product is only sold by ‘word of mouth’, or network marketing, so there is an immediate ability for many thousands of people to become distributors, with world-wide boundaries to where they can identity customers. This means that people can save money by buying their ‘Magic Pills’ themselves from a distributor, make a retail profit by selling to their friends and colleagues so they also save money, or become a distributor, and go out and find retail and distributor prospects. People can then make their fortunes by selling across International Boundaries.
Everything is then in place for the average Joe (including you and me) to make a veritable fortune, out of helping other people to save money, and do our bit to save the environment for our children’s sake.
But Whoa! At this point many people get cold feet, and totally lose the potential to create their own massive profitable home business.
Why?
1.Because they think they have to go out and SELL this product.
2. They think this is pyramid selling – so it must be illegal.
3. They think that they must become technical experts in engine design
4. They think that they will be incapable of doing what their sponsor is doing
But what if they can be slotted into a proven system that works, and is duplicatable?
What if they can use an Internet based system that can be run as well as any ‘word of mouth ‘ system, to remove most of the ’selling’ activities they fear doing themselves?
Say there was a semi automated solution that could assist every new distributor to obtain at least two more distributors every month, do you realise what the end result could well be, especially using such a ‘Magic Pill’ at its heart?
If you got two distributors involved each month, and had a system that could encourage each new distributor to sign up just 2 more distributors, do you realise how big your network could be after just a 12 month period?
Your first pair of distributors, if they had a system to sign up at least 2 each, and this continued for twelve months, this would create a team of over 1,000! And really, signing up just 2 distributors should not be beyond the wit of anybody who has half an interest in this sort of activity.

OK, so that is in a perfect world. We all know that not every distributor will do anything except complain, but some may do even better.
And also, you of course are still busily pumping in two new distributors every month, so the potential is enormous
With really successful network marketing systems, although you can automate a great deal these days thanks to internet technology, there is no substitute for human intervention in conjunction with these facilities. Once again, this raises the spectrum of ‘learning’ in a new distributor’s head, as after all, to wind them up and get them straight out there recruiting for you, the last thing they or you are going to want is a long training cycle.
There is no substitute to having a ‘Team Leader’ to whom you can call in on a ‘three way’ call. So, when combined with a lead tracking system that enables you to call up a pre-recorded 1 or 2 minute overview, leading to a visit to your powerful web site, then being able to make that planned follow up call the next day, and pull in your Team leader is a beautiful way to ensure a very high conversion rate.
A word of warning.
There are many examples of snake oil salesmen getting involved in ‘get rich quick’ scams with this type of product, and I had actually been succoured into one of them, so if you would like some advice on a really great product from what I can only describe as a company that doesn’t need the money, but where the owners want to leave behind a great legacy, please feel free to contact me personally.
